According to Yonhap News,
The largest bamboo forest for natural healing in Korea will be created in Damyang.
Damyang-gun said on March 30th that it would form the biggest bamboo forest in Korea in the bamboo eco park in Geumseong-myeon.
Damyang plans to expand the current 50ha bamboo grove by 20ha in the bamboo eco park.
The forest will be developed as a tourist attraction by promoting its function of natural healing, since bamboo trees produce a lot of anions, phytoncides, and oxygen.
The bamboo eco park has beautiful natural scenery thanks to nearby Damyang Lake, Mt. Chuwol, and Geumseong Fortress. The park is also very close to Damyang Hot Spring, providing an advantage that visitors can enjoy the hot spring and stroll through the woods at one place.
