The Organizing Committee of Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea said on April 3rd that it would host the 2nd participants’ meeting at Yeosu, Jeonnam-do (South Jeolla Province) and the Shilla Seoul for three days from April 5th.
The meeting will gather representatives of countries which have confirmed their participation, priority countries, and relevant international organizations. The preparation status and future schedules of Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea will be presented at the event.
Around 250 people will take part in the Participants’ Meeting including BIE Secretary General Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales, representatives of 100 participating countries, and officials of six international organizations.
The first Participants’ Meeting was held in April last year. The second Meeting will consist of a welcoming reception on April 5th and visit to the Expo site on April 6th and 7th.
The detailed guideline for preparing Expo 2012 Yeosu will be introduced to participating countries, and their opinions will be gathered. Another goal of the Meeting is to check the progress made by participants for their attendance.
Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea will be held in the area of Yeosu New Port under the theme of ‘the Living Ocean and Coast’ for three months from May 12th, and 92 countries and six international organizations have officially notified their participation so far.
