Balsam Apples to Be Exported to U.S.

Writer administ Posted at 2013-09-25
According to Gangjin County, Morning Special signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Woosung America to export balsam apples to the United States.

According to the MOU, balsam apples of 330 kilograms will be exported monthly from this November.

At an agricultural show hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MARFA) last July in the Los Angeles, United States, 20 female judges from L.A. noted that the products are outstanding in terms of their quality, taste, design and hygienic conditions, adding that they are willing to buy them.

Morning Special, a company specialized in processing and distributing agricultural and fishing products, received Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point System certification March of 2012. It was also selected by MARFA to receive investment of KRW 800 million to raise machinery, equipment and storages.

Morning Special plans to process the balsam apples, which are effective for treating diabetes, hypertension, constipation, overweight and atopy, and produce dried balsam apples, tea, juice and pills.
