Governor Park Visits New Zealand

Writer administ Posted at 2013-11-28
South Jeolla Governor Park Jun-young will visit New Zealand this week to promote the province’s beautiful marine resources to the world and attract the General Assembly of the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) in 2015.

UIM General Assembly gathers heads of power boat associations from about 100 countries around the world for ten days every October to share related technology and discuss regulation revisions. It is an international governing body which decides the venue for next year’s general assembly through a vote.

Governor Park will give a speech at the general assembly held in Oakland, New Zealand Saturday to attract the general assembly in 2015 to the province.

Park will also meet with related officials to promote South Jeolla’s marine tourism industry, investment climate and infrastructure.

Governor will also visit a thermal power plant which produces electricity using the heat produced from volcanic regions. The plant produces 150 MW of electricity annually, which supplies five percent of the total electricity consumption in New Zealand.

Park will also visit Zespri, the world leader in global Kiwi market, to benchmark the total process from production to processing and sales.

A South Jeolla Province official noted that the general assembly in 2015 will serve as an opportunity to promote the province’s marine resources and enhance the provincial prestige, adding that the province also aims to attract the F1H20 World Championship.
