Yeosu and Hangzhou to step up cooperation

Zhang Hongming, mayor of Hangzhou, China will stay in Yeosu between 4th and 5th to discuss cooperation between two cities.
Mayor Zhang’s visit follows the successful holding of the 8th Silk Road Mayors Forum, and it is expected that mayors will discuss to further cooperation between two international sister cities.
Two mayors discussed issues of Silk Road Mayors Forum and plans of developing cooperation between two cities during a luncheon on 4th.
“I hope that Yeosu will become the capital of the Ocean Silk Road and a hub for maritime logistics of North Asia.” Mayor Zhang said. “I also expect that two cities will continue to expand exchange in the fields of economy, culture, human and material resources.”
“Yeosu and Hangzhou have maintained a close relationship for many years. We will support to expand governmental and non-governmental exchange between two cities.” Mayor Kim said.
Mayor Zhang and his party plans to visit Ungcheon Memorial Park and Yeosu Aquarium, and attend a reception dinner hosted by the Yeosu president of a city assembly Park Jeong-Chae.
The group plans to visit Oh-dong Island and Dolsan Park on 5th. Yeosu and Hangzhou maintained private and governmental exchange since 2009. The city recently signed MOU worth KRW 4 billon with a local dye-manufacturing company Star-up Pigment Co. The city promised to build production lines which eco-friendly dyes and establish overseas bases in China.
