According to Yonhap News,



Mokpo National University has established Jeonnam-do (South Jeolla Province) Mokpo National University Offshore Wind Energy Hub Center at a research laboratory of Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) in Saarbrucken, Germany on April 8th.



Jeonnam Governor Park Jun-yeong, Chancellor Go Seok-gyu of Mokpo National University, President Moon Kil-choo of KIST attended the opening ceremony for the hub center held in Germany.



The center provides research and administrative functions together and operates international joint research and overseas internship programs for students involved in projects to nurture talents.



Professor Kim Il-su who leads the center for nurturing talents in the new renewable energy centering on offshore wind power at Mokpo National University said “the center will significantly contribute to adopting advanced technologies and fostering global talents in the offshore wind energy sector.”
