South Jeolla Province held a signing ceremony of an investment collaboration agreement worth 104.2 billion won on June 17th in the Seo Jae-Phil room of the provincial government building in the presence of heads of five companies, including Sam Tech and Daewon GSI.
According to the agreement, Sam Tech will move into a standard-type plant in the Daebul Free Trade Zone in Yeongam and establish a manufacturing facility for special gloves for industrial purposes with a 41.2-billion-won investment to expand its markets to overseas.
Aztech will build a manufacturing plant for sapphire ingots and wafers, a fundamental material for LED, in Naju General Industrial Complex with a 30-billion-won investment.
Daewon GSI, which manufactured equipment for the nation’s largest rice processing complex, is planning to spend 10 billion won in Muan Cheonggye Agro-industrial Complex 2 to produce pro-environmental rice milling machines that consume less energy and rice color sorting machines.
Choongwae Environment & Bio Technology will produce street lamps that use solar photovoltaic power with a 10-billion-won investment into Naju General Industrial Complex, whereas Ori Atti, a processor of duck meat, will make smoked duck and packaged duck meat with a 13-billion-won investment into Yeongam.
“We have high expectations as the companies have advanced technologies, R&D capabilities and growth potentials,” said Park Jun-yeong, governor of the province, in the ceremony. “We will provide all the necessary assistance to help them grow into flagship companies in South Jeolla.”
